INTERPRETER-KATE LUCAS

"This image transported me right back to the showgrounds in North Lismore, late October, 1990-something. Young enough to buy show-bags and ride The Pharaoh’s Curse, old enough to sneak in with cask wine and ciggies purloined from our parents. Slap delay squeals of un-self-conscious delight, a blur of soft-lit colours, and unencumbered joy – all conjured up in this beautiful image."

ARTIST BIO

Kate Lucas makes music under the alias Coda Chroma, drawing songs from personal dreamscapes and real-life encounters, delivering poetic honesty, with a nostalgia for the unknown. Her debut, self-titled album was released in 2017, sparking tours and shows with William Crighton, Husky, Ainslie Wills, and Ali Barter, to name a few. The album was nominated for an Age Music Victoria Award, high rotated on Double J, and was programmed on Spotify-run playlists. Kate has been working very closely with NZ born producer Damien Charles (The Red Eyes) on the follow up Coda Chroma album which is scheduled for release in October 2019.
